I expected eye-rolls, but the questions got my son talking about stuff he never brings up at dinner. The humour keeps it from feeling like a therapy session, which honestly is why it worked on him.
My 15-year-old actually put her phone down for this, which I never thought I'd see. The questions are silly enough that nobody feels interrogated, but we still ended up talking for an hour.
I pulled this out at dinner expecting eye rolls and instead we ended up arguing about who had it harder at 15. The cards that mix silly hypotheticals with the deeper ones are what did it, since nobody felt interrogated.
